FIR registered against the owner of Hotel Babylon Capital, was gambling
Raipur: More than half a dozen gamblers have been arrested while gambling in Hotel Babylon Capital. SSP Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh has given necessary directions to all the gazetted officers, police station in-charges and anti-crime and cyber unit in-charges of Raipur Police to investigate and take action against those who gamble/betting and to effectively curb it. On which all the police gazetted officers, police station in-charges and the team of anti-crime and cyber unit are gathering information in this regard by deploying informers, patrolling and gathering information.
In this connection, the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that some people are gambling with playing cards in a room of Hotel Babylon Capital located on VIP Road under the jurisdiction of Police Station Telibandha by betting on the win or loss of money.
On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Telibandha Police Station raided room number 115 of the said hotel and took action against 10 gamblers playing gambling and seized cash amount of Rs 1,98,150/- and playing cards from their possession and registered a case against the gamblers in Telibandha Police Station under section 4, 5, 36 of the CG Gambling Prohibition Act 2022. In this case, a case has also been registered against the owner of Hotel Babylon Capital and investigation is being done.
