Phagwara: Minor girl dies in road accident

Phagwara: A 14-year-old minor girl died on the spot last night after being hit by a speeding bike near village Saprod on the Phagwara-Jalandhar Highway. The deceased has been identified as Gunjan, who was crossing the road. She was rushed to the civil hospital, but doctors declared her dead.
The girl’s father Surinder Bhagat told the police that he runs two dhabas on both sides of the highway and his daughter was coming to meet him when she was hit by a speeding bike, whose registration number was PB-37K-1245. The motorcyclist, Aamir Arora, a resident of Phillaur, managed to escape. Police have registered a case against the motorcyclist. The body of the deceased has been handed over to her family after post-mortem at Civil Hospital Phagwara.
