88 new village panchayats formed in Nilgiris: Government order issued.

Tamil Nadu: The government has issued a government order for the formation of 88 new village panchayats in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.
The new rural local bodies are being created based on the recommendations of a high-level committee constituted for the reorganization of rural local bodies in Tamil Nadu.
Accordingly, 88 new village panchayats have been created in the Nilgiris district. The Tamil Nadu government has issued a government order to this effect.
Of the 35 existing village panchayats in the Nilgiris district, 27 have been divided to create the 88 new village panchayats. Following this, the 35 village panchayats in the Nilgiris district have been reorganized to form a total of 95 village panchayats. It is reported that only 9 village panchayats were not reorganized.
The number of village panchayats in the district, which was previously 35, has now increased to 95.
