8 proposals approved, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet meeting in Lucknow under the chairmanship of CM Yogi
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved 8 important proposals in its meeting held at Lok Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.
According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office, “The approved proposals also include the much-awaited Semi Conductor Policy 2024 that will provide significant benefits to sugarcane farmers along with an increase in sugarcane prices.”
Apart from this, three new universities have been approved in the state. Apart from this, the proposal to change the name of Mundera Nagar Panchayat in Gorakhpur to Chauri Chaura has also received cabinet approval.”
During the press conference held at Lok Bhavan, State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay and Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Minister Chaudhary Lakshmi Narayan informed the media about the cabinet decisions.
Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan said that the sugarcane purchased by all the sugar mills (cooperative sector, corporation and private sector) of the state for the crushing season 2023-24, the state Suggested Price (SAP) has been determined.
In this, the SAP for early maturing varieties of sugarcane has been increased from Rs 350 per quintal to Rs 370, for normal varieties from Rs 340 per quintal to Rs 360 and for unsuitable varieties, the price of sugarcane has been increased from Rs 335 per quintal. Rs 355 per quintal.
Three new private universities in the state were also approved in the cabinet meeting. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that the proposal to establish JSS University in Noida, Saroj University in Lucknow and Sharda University in Agra under the private sector has been approved.
The Education Minister also said that the quality of higher education has improved significantly under the Yogi government.
He further mentioned that currently, the state boasts of five government and five private universities in A++ ranking. Additionally, there are three universities with A+ ranking. The state has a large number of A-ranking universities. Before Yogi government, there were only three universities in the state in B+ ranking.
According to the release, the role of private universities will prove to be important in making the state a one trillion dollar economy. The move is expected to contribute to both the quantity and quality of education in the state.
The Yogi Cabinet headed by the Chief Minister has approved the Semi Conductor Policy 2024. This industry is still in its initial stage in India.
So far only Gujarat, Odisha and Tamil Nadu have made policies on this. Uttar Pradesh is the fourth state to adopt the Semi-Conductor Policy 2024, which experts consider to be the best policy.
This approval is expected to attract significant investment on a large scale in the state. The policy aims to make Uttar Pradesh a leader in semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Cabinet Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that industrial groups investing in setting up semi-conductor manufacturing units will get a fund of Rs 80,000 crore from the Government of India, in which the Uttar Pradesh government will contribute 75 percent of this amount.
The policy also includes provisions to provide financial incentives to industries and 75 per cent subsidy as land subsidy on land up to 200 acres.
So far, 13 companies have expressed their intention to set up semi-conductor manufacturing units in the state. Adequate water and uninterrupted electricity will be provided to industries.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government will provide Rs 10 lakh for patents at the national level and Rs 20 lakh for patents at the international level.
Collaboration with industry will be done under the CM Internship Program to ensure that skilled workforce is available. Apart from this, arrangements will be made for training related to semiconductor manufacturing in the technical institutes of the state.
In an important decision, Yogi Cabinet has approved the proposal to change the name of Mundera Nagar Panchayat of Gorakhpur to Chauri Chaura.
The decision marks the centenary of the famous Chauri Chaura incident during the independence movement, showing respect for the heritage.
Additionally, approval was also given to make changes in the Uttar Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Policy to exempt private MSME units and pledge parks from conversion charges for changing the land use of agricultural land to industrial under development authorities. .
Apart from this, the Cabinet has also given its approval to exempt Metro Rail, RRTS (regional rapid transit system) and all their assets from acquisition under the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1959.
