8 people died in the incident: Vaniyambadi Dental Hospital sealed

Tamil Nadu: Officials today sealed the Vaniyambadi Dental Hospital in connection with the incident of death of 8 people during dental treatment.

A team of doctors from Vellore Christian Medical College was investigating the death of eight people undergoing treatment at a private dental hospital in Vaniyambadi in Tiruppattur district in 2023.

In this situation, the investigation revealed that the instruments used for dental treatment were not cleaned properly and the same instrument was used for all the patients.

The Tamil Nadu Public Health Directorate said that 8 out of 10 people suffering from bacterial infection died due to the actions of this hospital.

After this, officials of the District Health Department and Revenue Department sealed the concerned hospital.
