73% of the calculation forms have been returned in the district: Collector informed

Tamil Nadu: District Collector S. Kandasamy stated that 73% of completed enumeration forms in Erode district had been returned as of Thursday.

He told reporters on Thursday: The Election Commission is carrying out a particularly large-scale revision of the voter list since the 4th. In the eight assembly constituencies of Erode district, 2,222 polling station-level officials are directly distributing enumeration forms to a total of 1,997,000 voters at their homes. These forms are being distributed to all homeless and deceased voters at their addresses.

The process of returning completed enumeration forms is currently underway. As of Thursday, 73% of the completed enumeration forms have been returned. We have found that 25% of the voters are included in the 2002 electoral roll and 26% of their families are included in that electoral roll. Based on this, it is certain that approximately 50% of the voters already on the electoral roll will be included in the draft electoral roll on December 9th.

We have placed voters whose names are on the 2025 voter list but have no connection to the 2002 voter list in the “Not Applicable” category.

After the draft voters list is published, we will send them a notice to provide proof of residence, and upon receipt, we will fully include them in the voters list. After the draft voters list is published, eligible individuals who have attained the age of 18 can apply to become new voters.

Voters should not wait until the last day, December 4th, but should complete and submit the calculation form by November 30th. Those who need assistance can visit the relevant polling station-level officer or nearby assistance centers in person.

We have returned completed calculation forms from 1.4 million (73 percent) of the district’s 1,997,000 voters. These 1.4 million forms have also been uploaded online. 1,946 people have completed the online calculation forms. If there are any errors in the completed calculation forms, polling station-level officials correct them and upload them online. This way, there’s no chance of missing out on even a single eligible voter.

The census revealed that 58,875 voters were absent, moved, or died. The forms for these 58,875 (2.95 percent) voters were not given to anyone else.

He said that after the draft voter list is released, permanent residents of other states can also get their names included in the voter list by submitting the relevant certificate.
