7 including 5 policemen injured in road accident

Patna (IANS) | A speeding truck hit a van in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district on Wednesday morning. Seven people, including five policemen, were seriously injured in the accident. Two others were injured in the accident, they are prisoners. According to sources, the injured policemen posted in Saran district had come to Lakhisarai to pick up two prisoners lodged in the district jail. A case was registered against him in the Saran Bank robbery case.

The accident happened at Pachna Mor near New Market on Bypass Road. Police said there was a flyover in New Market and just behind the truck was a police van carrying two prisoners.

A speeding truck came from behind and hit the police van. Due to the speed of the collision, the police van collided with the truck standing in front.

Local traders rescued the injured and sent them to Sadar Hospital in Lakhisarai. The five policemen injured in the accident have been identified as Sub-Inspector Prani Moti Chandra, Head Constable Jeetan Singh, Constable Lalit Vijay Singh, Constable Alok Kumar and Vijay Kumar respectively. The injured prisoners are Kundan Yadav and Sujit Yadav, residents of Munger.
