7 gamblers arrested from Sabzi Mandi, police conducted raid

Rajnandgaon. Police have arrested 7 people playing gambling in Basantpur police station area. Rs 10,230 cash, 52 playing cards and a plastic bag have been recovered from the gamblers caught from the vegetable market on Tuesday.

The team took action under the leadership of police station in-charge Aman Sahu under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma. Based on the information received from the informer, a raid was conducted in the vegetable market, where gamblers were betting money on playing cards.

The arrested accused include Amit Yadav (39), Rahul Baghel (29), Narsingh Yadav (40), Lokesh Yadav (19), Gajanand Sahu (40), Devesh Sahu (23) and Kuldeep Yadav (27). All the accused are residents of Basantpur. Police have registered a case against all the accused under Section 3 of the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act.
