6 criminals including Naxalite commander arrested
Jashpur. The joint team of Jashpur and Balrampur police has arrested six Naxalites along with JJMP (Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad) area commander Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi. A total of 31 crimes of assault/encounter, robbery, arson, kidnapping are registered against Tunesh Lakra in various police stations of Balrampur district as well as in various police stations of Jharkhand. Information was received from Jharkhand Police that Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi is hiding with his other associates in Balrampur and Jashpur area, he has modern weapons. On this information, Inspector General of Police Surguja Range informed Jashpur Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh and Balrampur Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umaid Singh was instructed to immediately form a team and conduct a joint operation.
Under the leadership of Kunkuri SDOP Vinod Mandavi and ASI Subhash Kujur posted in Balrampur district, the police team raided village Karma police station Narayanpur and Kunkuri in Jashpur district and succeeded in arresting all the accused. One piece of AK-47, one piece of magazine live round 90, one chapad, Naxalite dress and other daily useful items have been seized from the possession of the accused. Naxal member Ram Lakra (40 years) resident of Gadhiya police station Bhandaria (Jharkhand) from village Karma of Narayanpur police station in Jashpur district, Ranjit Mahato (30 years) resident of Orgi police station Vishnugarh (Jharkhand) and Herman Kumar Gannum resident of Tikaitbandh police station Munda Chatra (Jharkhand). Has been arrested. He was living as a tenant in Karma village since last week. Ghulam Shahzada was arrested from his residence.
JJMP leader Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi has been arrested from Kunkuri along with his associate Tabassum Ahmed after raiding the spot of the arrested accused. The accused Tabsum Ahmed, who was jailed in a theft case, was living on rent in the house of Mohammad Saddam. Tabassum Ahmed, who was in constant touch with the accused, was in constant touch with them, and he had brought Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi from Balrampur area and kept him as an accomplice in Kunkuri. Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi is currently active in the border areas of Garhwa district of Jharkhand and Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh. A total of 31 cases have been registered against this, 13 cases in Balrampur district and 18 cases in Jharkhand. Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi (Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad) was arrested by Inspector of Police Station Shankargarh in the year 2012. 124/2009 Section 364, 302, 120(B), 34 IPC 8(1)(3)(5) Chhattisgarh He was arrested on 13.05.2012 in a permanent warrant issued under the Public Safety Act. Tunesh Lakra alias Ravi JJMP member is currently active with JJMP members in District Balrampur, Garhwa area after his release from jail.
