500 more temples will be consecrated by the end of this year

Tamil Nadu : Hindu Religious and Endowments Minister P.K. Sekharbabu said 500 more temples will be consecrated by the end of this year.

He told reporters after attending the consecration ceremony of the Agnishwara Swamy temple at Thiruppugalur in Nagapattinam district on Thursday:

The sound of bells, lights and prayers are being heard everywhere from temples since the Tamil Nadu government came to power. Kumbhabhishekam is being organised at the ancient Agnishwara Swamy temple by the Hindu Religious and Endowments Department with the support of people from various fields, a long-drawn-out legal battle, donations and support from devotees.

It is a pleasure to attend the 3000th Kumbhabhishekam ceremony organised after the DMK government came to power.

The consecration ceremony of 24 temples will be held on Friday (June 6) and of 74 temples on June 28. I would like to inform you that the 3500th Prana-Pratishtha ceremony (of another 500 temples) will be held by the end of this year.

The government has allocated Rs 18 crore to build the Avaiyar Mandapam at Tulsiyapatnam with full grandeur and the work is underway. The Dravidian model government is a government that conducts ceremonies for Avaiyars, Tiruvalluvar, Sekkizhar and Siddhas who have attained Jeeva Samadhi here and there and takes pride in it.

The total subsidy amount given for the renovation of various small temples and ancient temples since this government came to power is Rs 1,008 crore.

With this, the criticisms of those who say that the DMK government is against spirituality are over. The only answer for the BJP and right-wing organisations criticising the DMK is the Kumbhabhishekam ceremony conducted under the Dravidian model regime. Devotees of the Lord are praising the Tamil Nadu government and the Chief Minister for the renovations being carried out in temples across Tamil Nadu, Minister PK Shekar Babu said.
