50 people took oath to donate eyes in a medical camp in Kapurthala

Jalandhar: Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal highlighted the importance of eye donation, saying that it not only benefits medical research but also helps in giving the gift of vision to those in need. Speaking at the medical camp organised by Human Rights Press Club, Kapurthala, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of providing free healthcare services to the public. He appreciated the efforts of the organisers for encouraging community participation and announced that 50 persons pledged to donate their eyes, thereby inspiring others to contribute to such noble causes.
During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner visited the camp, felicitated blood donors and recognised the contribution of doctors and medical staff. Earlier, Municipal Commissioner Anupam Kaler inaugurated the camp. Free health check-up of 2,000 patients was conducted at the camp. Additionally, three persons signed consent forms to donate their bodies for medical research. Civil Surgeon Dr Richa Bhatia and several other officials also attended the camp.
