5 people fell ill after eating Bhaaji in CG, girl died

Surguja. Five members of a family fell ill due to food poisoning in the remote village Khujji of Udaipur Block of Surguja district of Chhattisgarh. Out of these, a 15-year-old girl died. Now the health department has set up a health camp in the village and inquired about the victims from house to house. The rest of the family members are out of danger. The family of Narayan Majhwar, a resident of village Khujji, about 30 km from Udaipur, had cooked Bhaaji on Saturday. After eating it, all the family members fell victim to vomiting and diarrhea. On Tuesday, seriously affected Narayan Majhwar’s daughter Phulmati (15) died.

On the information of the Panchayat Secretary and Mitanin, the health team from Udaipur reached the village. Treatment of the victim Narayan Majhwar, his wife Bandhai, two sons Akash and Baisakhu was started. On Wednesday, the team of Medical Officer YK Kindo from Ambikapur also reached Khujji. After setting up a camp in the village and providing treatment, the condition of all the four victims is now out of danger. The health staff also checked the other houses in the village, but no diarrhea patients were found. Those found suffering from seasonal diseases have been given medicines. Udaipur BMO Dr. DM Kamre said that the treatment of the victim Narayan Majhwar’s family is still going on. It may take two to three more days for them to recover completely.
