5 people died, accidents happened at different places
Korba. Five people died and two others were injured in separate road accidents in Korba district on Wednesday. Police officials gave this information on Thursday. Police officials said that three people died in a road accident that took place in Balko police station area of the district on Wednesday. One person each died in Civil Lines police station area and Katghora police station area. He told that late on Wednesday night a speeding trailer hit a motorcycle on Rumgarha bypass road under Balko police station area. Madhav Prasad (47), Jagarsai Kenwat (53) and Leeladhar Kenwat (45) died in this incident.
Police officials said that after the accident, the driver of the trailer fled from the spot and is being searched. As soon as information about the incident was received, the villagers gathered and stopped the vehicles transporting coal in the area. Some people also vandalized vehicles. He told that when senior police officers explained to the people, they ended the agitation. Police officials said that in another incident, motorcycle rider Tej Lal Yadav (40) died and Sukhram (26) was injured after being hit by a tractor.
He told that Tej Lal, a resident of Kudmura, had gone to Korba on a motorcycle with his brother Sukhram. When both were returning, a tractor transporting sand hit them near Rampur. Tej Lal died on the spot after being crushed under the front wheel of the tractor and Sukhram was injured. Police officials said that injured Sukhlal has been admitted to the hospital. After the accident the tractor driver fled from the spot. Search for him is going on He said that in another incident, Ritesh Kumar (24) died and Pradeep Chauhan was injured in a road accident near Mohanpur toll naka on Katghora main road.
Officials said that Ritesh had gone to the house of Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Ghat Para, in his car. From there, both of them were going from Katghora towards Ambikapur on a motorcycle. When he reached near Mohanpur toll naka, he collided with a truck standing in the queue. Pradeep Chauhan, injured in the accident, has been admitted to Bilaspur hospital. He said that the police have registered the case and investigation is going on.
