4 more government colleges in Tamil Nadu: Where are they?

Tamil Nadu : Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that 4 more new government arts and science colleges will be opened in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming academic year.

Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated 11 new government arts and science colleges on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Higher Education Department last Monday.

In such a situation, the announcement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office regarding the opening of 4 more colleges states as follows:

“The enrollment of students in higher education in Tamil Nadu is constantly increasing due to pioneering schemes like ‘Pudhumai Penn’ and ‘Tamil Puthalavan’. To meet these needs, 11 new government arts and science colleges were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at the Secretariat on 26.05.2025 on behalf of the Higher Education Department, which will be operational from the academic year 2025-26. These colleges will be opened at Panrutti in Cuddalore district, Coonoor in Nilgiris district, Natham in Dindigul district, Alandur in Chennai district, Villupuram district, Vikravandi in Chengalpattu district, Seyyur in Chengalpattu district, Manamadurai in Sivagangai district, Muthupettai in Tiruvarur district, Thiruvidaimarudur in Thanjavur district, Perambalur district and Ottapidaram in Thoothukudi district through video conferencing in.

Subsequently, based on the request received, the Chief Minister on behalf of the Higher Education Department has ordered to open 4 more new Government Arts and Science Colleges in the current academic year (2025-2026) at KV Kuppam, Vellore district, Thuraiyur, Trichy district, Ulundurpet, Kallakurichi district and Chengam, Tiruvannamalai district. Thus, 1,120 students of the region will receive higher education.” It is mentioned.
