4 interstate ganja smugglers caught by Chichola police

On the guidance of Mr. Superintendent of Police Rajnandgaon Mohit Garg, Additional Superintendent of Police Rajnandgaon Rahul Dev Sharma and Mr. Police Sub-Divisional Officer Mr. Ashish Kunjam, instructions were given to take continuous action to stop the illegal drug trafficking going on in the district.In compliance with which vehicles were being checked continuously by setting up a checking point near the Patekohra barrier, during which, on the information of an informer, a suspicious vehicle, truck number OD, was detected on the information of illegally transporting illegal drug, ganja, in a truck from Orissa to Gujarat. On blocking and checking 07 A 7815 and suspicious vehicle truck number OD 19 J 9231, the driver gave vague answers and on asking the name and address of the driver and the person sitting with him respectively, his name was Ranjan Behera, father Shivram Behera, age 46 years, caste, Gond Sakin.

OD 19 J 9231 and the mobile and vehicle papers of the accused were seized and taken to the police. The act of the accused was under Section 20B NDPS Act.
Due to the finding, crime numbers 13/2024 and 14/2024, Section 20B NDPS Act have been registered and the accused have been arrested and sent to jail for investigation of the crime.
