301 meter long chunri offered to mother
Korba. There is a huge crowd of devotees in the Devi temples of the district today during Mahanavami of Chaitra Navratri. Today special worship of Maa Siddhidatri was done here. On the day of Ashtami, at the Sarvamangala temple, the devotees made a 11 kilometer padyatra and offered a 301 meter long Chunari to the Mother Goddess.
The picture of Maa Durga was installed in the vehicle decorated with flower garlands. The devotees started the 11 kilometer march holding Chunari with their hands. As the journey progressed, a crowd of devotees started gathering to catch Chunari.
Late Tuesday evening, the yatra proceeded towards Sarvamangala temple via CSEB Chowk and TP Nagar. During this time devotional songs were playing. Devotees were hailing Mata Rani. When the yatra was passing through the main road of the city, a large number of people were seen standing on both sides of the road to watch it. Late night the yatra reached Sarvamangala temple. Devotees offered chunri and worshiped Maa Sarvamangala and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity.
