3 more IPS officers get promotion to DGP rank, number of DGP-ranked officers in Odisha rises to 5; Check details
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government gave promotion to three more senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, informed the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.
As per the GA&PG Department’s notification, IPS officers Vinaytosh Mishra and Raosaheb Punjabrao Koche of 1993 have been promoted to the grade DG of police in IPS in Level-16 of Pay Matrix and are posted in-situ until further order.
Likewise Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, of the same batch, who is on Central Deputation is allowed proforma promotion to the grade of DG of Police in IPS in Level-16 of Pay Matrix.
With the promotion of the three IPS officers to the DGP rank, Odisha has now five DGP ranked officers. They are present DGP Y. B. Khurania, Vinaytosh Mishra, Raosaheb Punjabrao Koche, Susanta Kumar Nath (he is now in central deputation, and 1990 batch IPS officer and DG Fire Sudhanshu Sarangi.
Earlier yesterday, eight officers were promoted to different rank of the State Police. Yatindra Koyal of 2000 batch has been promoted to the grade of ADG of Police in IPS Level-15 of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1, 2025 and is posted in-situ until further orders. Apart from him, Prateek Mohanty of the same batch also has been given the promotion to the equal rank. Currently, he is on central deputation.
Likewise, three IPS officers of 2011 batch namely Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar and Batuula Gangadhar have been promoted to the grade of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Police in IPS in Level-13 of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1, 2025 and are posted in-situ until further orders.
Likewise, three IPS officers of 2007 batch have been given promotion to the grade of IG of Police in IPS in Level-14 of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1 and are posted in-situ until further orders. The three IPS officers who have been promoted as IG are Awinash Kumar, Sarthak Sarangi and Niti Shekhar.
