272 upgraded schools will be closed, preparing to denotify schools with low enrollment

Shimla. After the primary, the state government will soon issue a notification regarding the closure of middle, high and senior secondary schools in the state. Tomorrow 272 government schools are being denotified. In response to the budget discussion, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has kept this figure in the assembly. In this, the government has kept the data of enrollment of students in such institutions which were opened in the last 6 months in the previous BJP government. Soon the government will denotify and shut them down.

If we talk about middle schools in this, 85 middle schools were opened in different districts in the former BJP government, out of which only 17 schools were such, in which the number of students was more than 15, in the remaining schools this figure is less than 15. In such a situation, the government will soon close 68 middle schools. Along with this, 131 high schools were also opened by the previous BJP government in the last 6 months, out of which the number of students in 131 schools was less than 20. Of these, only 17 schools have been notified, while the government will denotify 113 schools.

Along with this, there are only 8 schools with less than 25 students in senior secondary schools. In such a situation, the government will denotify 90 schools. The state government says that these schools were opened by the BJP government due to political motives, where there is neither staff nor sufficient number of students. The aim of the state government is to bring quality in education. However, the opposition is fiercely opposing this decision of the government.

285 primary schools have been closed
Earlier, the government has closed 285 schools with zero admission. In this, 17 primary schools have been denotified. Along with this, 19 colleges have also been closed. The results of these children will come on 31st March. That is why these schools will be closed from April 1 by sending them to other schools.
