2 Naxalites surrender in Sukma

Sushila, who saved her father’s life by fighting with the Naxalites in Jharagaon, has set an example. Usually in Naxal areas, many murders take place in the village and the family members do not even reach to register an FIR. On Monday, something happened which expressed the anger and courage of the young tribals in the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar. Sushila is seen as a symbol of this.

In fact, Sondhar, a resident of Jharagaon Village of Narayanpur, was attacked by eight attackers right outside his house. All of them had axes and the attack was done with the intention of killing him in the Naxalite way. Due to the axe injury, Sondhar was seriously injured and started falling on the ground.

Before the axe could be used on him, Sushila reached the spot and snatched the axe from the Naxalites and started shouting loudly. Due to which the people nearby reached the spot and eight Naxalites riding on four bikes were forced to run away. Sondhar, who is seriously injured, has been referred from the district hospital to Jagdalpur Medical College. All the eight people who carried out the crime were wearing masks. Therefore, the police is investigating whether the Naxalites are behind this incident or someone else has tried to carry out this crime under the cover of Naxalites.The security forces have achieved a major success against Naxalism in the district. Two rewarded Naxalites have surrendered before the police in Sukma district. A female Naxalite is also among the surrendered Naxalites. The district police said that the Naxalites surrendered after being influenced by the “Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy” and “Niyad Nella Nar” scheme of the Chhattisgarh government. Police officials said that female Naxalite Urmila alias Somdi Madkam (24) and male Naxalite Madkam Sona surrendered before the security forces. They said that both the Naxalites were active in the platoon number of KB and KKBN division and there was a reward of two lakh rupees each on them.

The police officer said that Urmila was involved in the firing incident by the police party on the temporary camp/camp of Naxalites in Hathiguda forest district Kawardha in the year 2018. The Naxalite was injured in the incident. The police officer said that the surrendered Naxalites will be provided an incentive amount of Rs 25,000 each under the rehabilitation policy of the government and other facilities under the Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy.
