2 murderers arrested in blind murder case

Chandigarh. Police of Sector 34 police station and District Crime Cell arrested two accused in the murder case of Sector 44. The accused were identified as Basant Chaudhary, 35, and Chuda Mani, 24, residents of Sector 45 Badail. Sector 34 police station received information that an unknown person was brought dead to GMCH-32 near Sector 44 Lakshmi Narayan Temple. As soon as the information was received, DSP and Sector 34 CR police station in-charge reached the spot.

Police investigation revealed that there were strangulation marks on the neck of the deceased and injury marks on the nose, neck and other parts of the body. Mobile forensic team visited the spot and the crime scene was searched.The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Jitender alias Jeetu, resident of Badail. Basant Choudhary and Chuda Mani Kumar work as watchmen in Budail area and collect Rs 20 from auto drivers daily. After collecting the money, counting was done on the night of 13 and 14 March. During this time suddenly a person in an inebriated state snatched some money from them. The accused asked the man to return the money, but he fled from the spot. After this, when they reached near Sector 44 Park, the person who had fled was present. Both of them hit him with a stick on his leg and hit him several times on his neck with a sharp object. When the man became unconscious, the accused fled from the spot.
