19 students in Bengaluru have trouble breathing due to rat poison

Karnataka: 19 students of Adarsh ​​Nursing College hostel in Bengaluru were rushed to hospital as they suffered breathing problems due to rat poison sprayed by the hostel management to ward off rats on the night of August 18, officials said on Monday. “A total of 19 students fell sick due to breathing problems due to the presence of the toxic substance and were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals along with other students, hostel staff and general public,” said S Girish, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Bengaluru. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Bengaluru, three of the 19 students are critically ill and have been admitted to the ICU. “Almost all the students have been treated in the hospital and are recovering. Of these, three students namely Jayan Varghese, Dileesh and Joe Mon are critically ill and are being admitted to the ICU,” the West Bengaluru DCP said. He said a case will be registered under Section 286 BNS against the hostel management staff who sprayed the rat poison.
