18 Naxalites killed in Kanker

There is news of three soldiers being injured in the encounter between police and Naxalites. Encounter is going on in Maad area of Chhote Bethia police station area, additional force has been sent to evacuate the injured soldiers from the forest. According to sources, Naxalite commander Shankar Rao is feared to be killed in this encounter. So far 18 bodies have been recovered, along with a large number of automatic rifles. According to the information, 3 policemen have been injured in this encounter. The police will soon issue a statement on this matter.

According to news agency PTI, a senior police officer said, the firing started in the forest under Chhote Bethia police station area when a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on an anti-Naxal operation. . He said that three security personnel have been injured in the firing and more information is awaited. Chhattisgarh is the second most Naxalite affected state. According to the Home Ministry, 14 districts of Chhattisgarh – Balrampur, Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Gariaband, Kanker, Kondagaon, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma, Kabirdham and Mungeli are Naxal affected. According to statistics, Naxalite attacks in Chhattisgarh have not been decreasing for the last several days. If seen, on an average more than three hundred and fifty Naxalite attacks take place in the state every year. In these, an average of 45 soldiers are martyred every year.
