100 crore scam, PWD officers are no less than emperors

Bilaspur. The emperor style of the Public Works Department did not leave the saint unimpressed. K P Sant, posted as Superintending Engineer in Bilaspur Public Works Department, was posted in Bilaspur during the Corona period, but on 22/10/2022, he was transferred to Ambikapur division. He was residing in the government residence in Ambikapur for about 2 years. It is said that there also, to make the government residence bungalow well-organized emperor-like, an expenditure of Rs 35, 40 lakh was made by the department by Sant ji so that a good status can be made over the visiting corrupt devotees and a lot of offerings can be received.

It is important to mention here that while being posted in the Public Works Department Bilaspur Division during the Corona period, muster rolls worth about 50 crore rupees were issued by him. It is estimated that piece work orders worth the same amount were also issued. Now the thing to think about is that during the Corona period, when curfew was imposed, neither petrol nor diesel was available, nor labourers were available, nor any material was available, then one can guess where and how 100 crore rupees would have been spent. It is important to mention that even then a government bungalow was allotted in his name in the Civil Line premises itself. Despite living in Ambikapur for 2 years, this Bilaspur bungalow was not vacated by him and 5 labourers of the department used to work for its maintenance and cleanliness, whereas in the present situation, 10 departmental labourers are engaged in service. It seems that he knew that he had to come back to Bilaspur. The interesting thing is that after coming to Bilaspur from Ambikapur 2 months ago, the royal bungalow of Ambikapur has not been vacated by him till now. Is Sant ji going to make some record that wherever he goes he will keep a government bungalow in his possession while the newly posted Superintending Engineer is wandering in the hope of getting a house.

This bungalow is right in front of Bilaspur Collector’s office which has not been vacated even after 2 years of transfer. When he has so much influence then the hope of paying the rent seems bleak while as per the rules a person can keep only one house. In the event of not vacating the house, there is a provision of charging panel rent and after 6 months the rent at market rate. MPs, departmental ministers and officers of other departments also live at a distance of a few steps. Now it remains to be seen what is the rule of the government to keep two houses during this time and whether the rent of these houses has been deducted as per the rules or not, this is a matter of investigation, but the way he has returned to the same place again proves in itself that the Honorable Minister of Public Works Department, whose residence is also at a distance of a few steps, must have been close to him, which is still intact. It is said that while being the Superintending Engineer, he also used to do contracting work in the name of his brother. His main work has been to sit in the office and gossip, give sermons and mislead people, due to which the employees and officers of the department used to remain troubled, probably the same attitude is there even today. Now it remains to be seen what action the Honorable Minister of Public Works Department, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, takes. People demand that the expenditure made during the Corona period should be investigated, which will clarify the situation. There is a discussion among the people that how did the saint, who originally belonged to a poor family of Shahdol division, become the owner of property worth billions. K P Sant looks innocent but the entire department is ashamed of his act. He is proving the proverb that looks simple but does serious things. Another important question is that who will take action on how the hard earned money of the poor people is looted.
